I am originally from Greenville, South Carolina and am still a "Carolina Girl" at heart. I fight, on a daily basis, the inclination to have big hair. Since leaving the south, I have had the chance to live all over the United States and travel many wonderful places for work and pleasure. I have had the opportunity to work in many capacities as an actress, director, and producer but my first love is acting. I pursue this business because I love people and I love the art of teaching truth through entertainment. We laugh, we love, we learn all while getting lost in someone else's life. Sounds good to me. My life revolves around my two biggest productions to date, my kids. They have given my life more meaning than I ever knew it had. My own journey of faith, hope, and love continues to evolve on a daily basis and I try to use my gifts and talents to do good things in this world and teach others what I have found to be meaningful and fulfilling in the process.
I don't have a whole lot of time for personal interests but if I did my day would consist of waterskiing on a glassy lake, going to watch a great movie that makes me laugh and cry and then go out to eat a great Italian dinner with people I love while discussing the meaning of life and everything that we want to change about the world. If the day was spent with my kids, it would be spent doing anything that makes them happy...because THAT brings me great joy. And if my day could be spent changing the world, I would love to go to a particular orphanage in Moscow where I have been many times before and change the lives of children by giving them hugs. I also enjoy changing the world by spending time talking to my children, learning what is in their hearts and building relationships with them that will hopefully make them giving, caring, people who humbly understand themselves to be blessed by God but not above anyone else on this earth.
My background in the entertainment industry(theatre, television, film, and music) spans 20 years but has not come close to the kind of influential platform that I would love to have through this field. I love it. As a student I was chosen to attend a special Fine Arts school, received scholarships to college in Theatre, was accepted to several special training schools in the years that followed. But as a professional, I have been fortunate to play many different roles and direct many other amazing professionals. I have directed stage productions in many countries around the world and work with people that have taught me things far greater than I could begin to list here. I founded a touring theatre, a professional theatre, a production company, written scripts, produced cds and discovered talent. All of that was part of my own experience but could never have been done without the help of countless others. In this business it is NEVER about one person and I learn that more and more everyday.
